Do not, under any circumstances, buy a used car from Southern States Subaru of Raleigh new and used inventory. My mother did, and was sold a car without a clean title.
Not only that, but I, not the dealership, discovered that the NYS DMV still had the car marked with one lien against it. This mark was a clerical error made by the lienholder. I've tried multiple times to reach the dealership with the information, but their operator's mailbox is always full.
It has been over three months since the purchase, and my mother still hasn't received a title nor a registration. I've lodged a complaint with the NCDMV.
Southern States Subaru should get negative stars if possible.
Buyer beware.

I recently visited Subaru on November 20th for an oil change and to inquire about a warranty issue with my car’s radio. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
The representative, Logan, was dismissive when I mentioned the corrosion on the radio. Instead of investigating the issue or having a technician look into it, she questioned why I hadn’t brought the car in sooner and attributed the problem to sun exposure rather than considering possible warranty coverage. When I asked about an oil change promotion, Logan responded in an unwelcoming tone, saying that many people come in with promotions, rather than offering assistance or empathy. She also told me I needed to bring the promotional information with me—which I understood—but the lack of tactfulness was unwarranted.
Because of this, I was unable to redeem the promotion, and no one inspected the radio issue. Overall, I left feeling undervalued as a customer.
Due to this experience, I will be moving on to a dealership where I’ll be treated as a valued customer. This is especially disappointing because I’ve had exceptional experiences for years, since 2019, at both Williams Subaru in Charlotte, NC, and Richard Lucas Subaru in Avenel. I hope that in the future, they can improve their customer service and provide a more supportive and attentive experience.

I would not recommend this service center and will not be returning. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had.
I scheduled an appointment to have my wheel bearings serviced under warranty. From the moment I arrived, I was treated as an inconvenience rather than as a customer seeking help. This was my first time filing a warranty claim, but I had contacted the dealership where I purchased the warranty in advance to confirm coverage.
I provided Southern States with my service agreement, including the clearly listed contract number. Despite this, staff insisted it was insufficient. When I asked if they could contact the dealership that issued the warranty to clarify the situation, they refused. I was left scrambling to find additional documentation on my own.
At one point, I was simultaneously on the phone and texting the dealership I purchased the vehicle from, trying to resolve the issue. A Southern States employee questioned why I was “calling to figure it out,” despite their unwillingness to assist. The tone and treatment I received were dismissive and uncomfortable. Whether due to my age or the condition of my vehicle, the experience felt discriminatory—especially as I watched other customers be greeted with warmth and patience while I was repeatedly told I was wrong, lacked proper paperwork, and could not be helped.
After about 15 minutes, I was told they could no longer assist me that day and that I would need to return another time. Ten minutes later, I reached the dealership that sold me the car, who confirmed that all necessary information was already included in the paperwork I had originally provided.
For comparison, another local Subaru dealership—Johnson Subaru—was able to assist me the same day using the exact same information and documentation. This made it clear that the issue was not my paperwork, but the unwillingness of this service center to help.
This situation could have been resolved quickly with even minimal effort or courtesy from the service staff. Instead, I left feeling dismissed and frustrated. Customer service like this is unacceptable.
